Nikah (Marriage)

Nikkah, often referred to as Islamic marriage, is a pivotal event in a Muslim’s life. It is a religious and legal contract that binds a man and a woman in a holy union. This union is characterized by the exchange of vows and the acceptance of rights and responsibilities, creating the foundation for a family based on love, trust, and mutual respect.

Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings on Nikkah
The importance of Nikkah in Islam is underlined by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

  1. “O young people! Whoever among you is able to marry, should marry…” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

  2. “When a person marries, he has fulfilled half of his religion.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

  3. “The best marriage is the one that is easiest to arrange.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

  4. “Do not delay in three things: Salat when its time comes, burial when the body is ready, and the marriage of a single woman when a suitable match is found.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)
